"Theta Xi is a fraternity embracing the values of scholarship, responsibility, leadership, and most importantly -- brotherhood. Each member is a unique and valued part of the fraternity, adding to the experiences and memories we will walk away with from college and the many years to follow. It is these people -- the brothers of Theta Xi -- that make the hard times easy, and the bad times good. I have grown, learned, and adventured with the gentlemen of Theta Xi, and proudly call each a brother. I hope that you too will take the time to investigate Theta Xi, and realize it is an experience not worth passing up."

The Quest for Theta Xi
Theta Xi is the newest and fastest growing fraternity on Texas Tech campus. We were colonized on Nov 17, 2002 with one of the largest colonization classes, not only in Texas Tech history, but also nationally within Theta Xi. We received our official National Charter in October 2003. What started as an idea soon gave way to a reality and all of the Brothers were initiated as Founding Fathers of the Texas Tech Chapter of Theta Xi. Theta Xi is a group of young men who work together to accomplish goals while assisting Brothers on their path to manhood. Theta Xi members push each other to strive for their personal best in all aspects of collegiate life. Our members excel in scholarship, philanthropy, brotherhood, and of course socially. Theta Xi was founded nationally at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, on April 29, 1864, by eight founding fathers.

Theta Xi has since been established at over 55 national colleges and holds claim to over 55,000 active members. All members of Theta Xi exemplify the motto, Juncti Juvant to the fullest, which roughly translates into united they serve in Latin. The colors of Theta Xi are azure, blue, and silver.

Theta Xi Brothers strive for academic excellence which is achieved through a rigid nine hour-a- week study program and access to free tutoring. Our chapter can boast having one of the highest grade-point-averages within the fraternity system. We also have several Brothers in advanced degrees, such as engineering, pre-med, and architecture.

Theta Xi holds social events ranging from mixers, football games, fight-night, formals, and retreats at Palo Duro Canyon. We also like to cooperate with other Greek fraternities on campus, and do so by throwing parties and planning trips with them, such as a mobster party and paint balling. Our biggest trip of the year is our trip to Mardi Gras, in New Orleans where we have a mixer with sororities from Tulane, not to mention the fact that we stay at a mansion on the parade route. We also actively participate in Greek Week, Inter-Fraternity Round Table, Junior Greek Board and the Greek Standards Committee.
Theta Xi works hand-in-hand with our National headquarters in organizing philanthropic events with both the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and Habitat for Humanity. One of things that our members consistently most proud of is helping to raise money for those that are less fortunate than us. On top of are national philanthropy events, Theta Xi wants to hold a quarterly open-mic night to raise money to help subsidize our dues.

Theta Xi is full of leadership opportunities for one to pursue, and above all its members strive for personal excellence. Theta Xi prides its self on being a non-hazing fraternity, and stands behind that virtue with an absolute no tolerance policy in regards to hazing associate members or guests. In our fraternity we dont have a pledging process. We strive for equality between Brothers so each new Brother will become an associate member with an equal voice in the fraternity. Hazing isnt even an issue in this fraternity, because we have set up a system that doesnt allow for hazing to ever become an issue. We have implemented a Big Brother/Little Brother program, in which a Big Brother looks out for the new associate member, and can not make him do anything with out him doing the action first.
We firmly believe that organized sports help form stronger bonds of brotherhood. They promote an understanding for the rules of the game, which can be further applied to life after college, and it is for these reasons that we are active participants in intramurals.

What we look for in a man is someone that is willing to expand their views of the world through bonding with Brothers, while at the same time maintaining a sense of individuality. We are looking for sincere, genuine men who will uphold our standards of excellence and at the same time have a great time through life-changing experiences with their Theta Xi Brothers.
